50p Hills

MADE a tour of the thrift stores in Watney Market in the East End last week.
The tour proved rather quicker than might be expected as none of the shops had a queue outside, which was hardly surprising as none was practising social distancing.
The trip proved well worthwhile as I came away with six 50p green sponges - a high price for a sponge, but a low one for a hill to be fought over by toy soldiers.
I may well use these rather than, or in addition to, the plastic-bowl hills I improvised last month (http://timspanton.blogspot.com/2020/04/hills.html).
Sponge hills with 60mm metal toy-soldiers (I wanted to picture the soldiers marching over a hill, but balancing a relatively heavy metal soldier on sponge is not easy - but the hills will work with plastic toy soldiers and smaller metal ones)
