| Situation after turn 19 |
Andy's Carthaginians have 17 victory points, and will not add to them unless Andy can free his homeland this turn;
Reg's Romans had five victory points at the halfway stage, and currently hold seven provinces, including double-scoring 'AFRICA' and IBERIA, and triple-scoring ITALIA, which would mean a further 11 victory points, taking Rome's total to 16;
My Macedonians have five provinces, including double-scoring 'INDIA', and those six victory points would also take my total to 16;
Richard's Parthians similarly have five provinces, including double-scoring AEGYPTUS, which would take the Persian/Parthian points total to 20.
But first the revolt dice land 5-4, meaning Magna Graecia throws off Roman rule, which greatly benefits me as it means my Macedonians cannot be attacked this turn from the west.
Andy is drawn first, but fails to liberate his Carthaginian homeland, so the Carthaginians will finish on their current total of 17 victory points.
I am next up, and attack Illyria, but fail with a 3.
Reg's Romans try, but fail to retake Magna Graecia, meaning the Romans will end on 16 victory points.
Finally, Richard's Parthians, already assured of first place, launch a "spite" attack on 'Asia', taking it with a 5.
That means the Persians/Parthians finish with 21 victory points, and my Macedonians with 15.
