Situation at the end of turn five |
The further-back infantry in area 4 move obliquely right to get out of the line-of-sight of the French artillery. The other infantry in area 4 advance and fire at the French directly ahead of them, the four dice being decreased for moving, for firing through trees and for the target being in cover, but increased for being next to Sir Arthur Wellesley. I roll 6 and 5, eliminating the French unit.
Sir Arthur falls back obliquely right, and his former place behind the high ground is taken by the further-back cavalry. The other cavalry advance one hex, staying out of range of the French infantry (unless the latter reduce their effectiveness by moving).
The next half-turn could be critical |
In area 1 the cavalry roll 2, but this has no effect as there is no enemy withing three hexes. The infantry roll 3 and so advance.
The artillery roll 6, and so advance a hex.
A very disappointing half-turn for the French |
