I attack Syria but roll 1.
The Macedonians attack me in Mesopotamia, but also roll 1.
Richard's Carthaginians attack Cisalpina, but 4 is not enough as there are -1 modifiers for attacking outside of Carthage's original empire and for attacking a controlled province.
